Browser Games: Unforgotten Tab

V–A–C Sreda online magazine continues its final three-month series of podcasts on significant cultural phenomena of the past that are now almost forgotten or considered extinct, but nevertheless continue to exist.

In this episode, we explore browser-based online games. How did they emerge, and what made them so popular in the early 2000s? Who were the Saracens, Harlequins, and Losers? What happened to the industry after the rise of social media?

V–A–C Sreda editor Maxim Shibaev considers these and other questions alongside game designer and Causal Games founder Mikhail Sviblov, and MyCry, the visionary behind the project TimeZero Reloaded.
