Tabloid: Scandals, Intrigue, Investigations

V–A–C Sreda online magazine continues its final three-month series of podcasts on significant cultural phenomena of the past that are now almost forgotten or considered extinct, but nevertheless continue to exist.

In this episode, we explore the phenomenon of tabloid journalism. Where did the term come from, and what does a bald-headed boy have to do with it? Why do certain topics consistently make headlines? And what happened to this popular genre in the age of digital media?

V–A–C Sreda editor Maxim Shibaev considers these and other questions alongisde Evgeny Sazonov, editor-in-chief of Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House and Associate Professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Financial University.
