I studied architecture for a couple years, but my romantic fantasies were fairly quickly dispelled, and I left university to pursue things which allowed for more self-expression and creativity. I didn’t go straight into music— there were some twists and turns along the way — but, happily, music now takes up most of my time.
There isn’t, from my point of view, much by way of competition in Minsk — though I could be wrong, as I never found anyone there who made music which really resonated with me, and so I wasn’t ever really deeply enmeshed in the local scene. I think that might have been the reason I moved to Moscow, where I met the guys from PIR and Monoleak, including Fedor Pereverzev (Moa Pillar).
At the request of V–A–C Sreda, I’ve put together a mix of music by CIS artists who inspire me a lot — I love each of these tracks.
