“The Alexandra Novozhenova Institute”: Valentin Dyakonov, Arseniy Zhilyaev, Gleb Napreenko

In 2021, V–A–C Press published A Box of Pencils: Texts, Drawings, Design, the collected works of the art historian and critic Alexandra Novozhenova. This week, especially for Sreda online magazine, the editors of the publication—the curator Valentin Dyakonov, the artist Arseniy Zhilyaev, and the psychoanalyst and art historian Gleb Napreenko—discuss Novozhenova’s conception of the sociology of art and the institution of criticism.

This podcast is in Russian. It is accompanied by Novozhenova’s essay, “Waiting for Ideas: Anonymous Corporations” (available in Russian and English) and a selection of Novozhenova’s drawings.
