Let’s Comp: Nostalgia or Reality?

This issue of V–A–C Sreda online magazine marks the launch of a new series of podcasts dedicated to games, produced in collaboration with the Tolk audio platform.

In this first episode, we discuss the phenomenon of computer clubs. Why were they so popular in the 1990s? What kind of atmosphere reigned in them at that time? And are gaming clubs really gaining popularity again today?

These are among the questions discussed by Maxim Shibaev, an editor at V–A–C Sreda online magazine, and Dmitry Smith, one of the first Russian cybersportsmen and the president of the Russian Computer Sports Federation. The podcast features comments from participants and administrators of computer clubs reflecting on their gaming experiences and key changes in the modern club industry.
