V–A–C Sreda online magazine presents a series of podcasts dedicated to upcoming events and exhibitions at GES-2 House of Culture.

In this episode, we talk to the pianist and composer Alexey Khevelyov, whose music plays an important role in Sergey Sapozhnikov’s House and Garden project What are the peculiarities of composing music today? How much does one need to study and practice to become a pianist? What difficulties do composers face in Russia, and what does the future hold for academic musicians?

The podcast features pieces of music composed by Alexey Khevelyov, which will be released on vinyl as part of a special V–A–C publishing project accompanying the opening of the House and Garden exhibition on June 8, 2023. Khevelyov’s waltzes will also be performed live by the composer himself during a piano concert at GES-2 House of Culture on July 28, 2023.
