Museum of Mushrooms: A Cultural Aid

V–A–C Sreda online magazine continues its three-month podcast series dedicated to unusual museums in Russia, in collaboration with the “Zapovednik” project.

In this episode, we talk about the role of mushrooms in culture, art, and philosophy. How was the collection of the Museum of Mushrooms of Ugra in Khanty-Mansiysk created? Can mushrooms take over humanity? And what is responsible for the wave of “mycomania” that we are observing today?

These and other questions are discussed by Maxim Shibaev, an editor at V–A–C Sreda, Ekaterina Kozyreva, a writer and philosopher of plants and nature, Mikhail Kotomin, the director of Ad Marginem publishing, and Nina Filippova, a researcher at Yugra State University.
