Sergey Skurtu, a sound artist and sound designer has prepared an original musical mix especially for V–A–C Sreda’s New Year issue. Combining experimental approaches and functional electronics, Skurtu’s mix addresses nostalgia for rave and is rooted in the practices of Lorenzo Senni and other post-club electronic producers. At the same time, Skurtu defamiliarises the aesthetic paradigm of deconstructed trance, attempting to elaborate a language of contemporary digital rituality that flickers in pursuit of an elusive holiday.
