Investigating the Human Nature with Alphyna and Deanna Khamis

Why would a philosophical treatise masquerade as a crime novel? What is Insulindian Phasmid and what does it have to do with cryptozoology? And how did a weird text-oriented RPG become one of the recent highlights in the world of independent intellectual gaming? The Russian localisation of Disco Elysium, an RPG based on the book by an Estonian writer Robert Kurvitz, spiked a new wave of interest towards this extremely popular game, developed by the enigmatic ZA/UM studios. We talked to Alphyna, a member of the Russian localisation team, and Deanna Khamis, a philosopher and author of a culturological analysis of Disco Elysium.
